We're on Unit 6 now…Diana, you've done a FANTASTIC job with this re-write, I have to tell you. I loved the original editions when we went through your world history series in junior high, as you know. So I was a fan from the get-go…but this new version is just blowing the socks off me! The articles are so deep, so thorough, and so insightful, always sticking to the overriding theme of God's smooth and seamless movement of His people across the span of the ages, always moving to the ultimate fulfillment of His plan for His people. History cannot be more clear, for those with spiritually unblinded eyes to see it. Love you!

My daughter has used both the Ancient Civilizations and Romans, Reformers, Revolutionaries. These were the best two years of history she has ever had.  She RAVES about this program to everyone.  Just last week while she was at a cafe with a friend, she was talking about how great it had been.  A homeschool mother sitting at another table overheard the conversation and contacted me.  She said that she had never heard any child talk about loving their history like that and asked about the program.  I took her the books that we have so that she could look through them, and I believe she has already placed her order.  We are so happy for them!

Diana,

I had to let you know how happy I am with our choice of world history curriculum. I currently own Ancient Civilizations and the Bible and Romans, Reformers, and Revolutionaries. I knew when I opened the teachers manuals to the first page that this curriculum was (thankfully) going to be different. Acts 17:26-27 very clearly reveals His purpose in all of history and is the right foundation to build upon. I was even more delighted to see a 2-page spread devoted to the subject of Teachers as Followers of the Lord. I LOVE that!!

I had to let you know what a fabulous job you have done and how we are both enjoying it so far. I love church history. I love that you deliver a biblically balanced perspective on the "great men" of secular and/or church history. For example, I was aware that theologians were not united in their view of the authenticity of the conversion of Constantine based on some of his actions. So, I appreciate you giving that dimension to the story.

I have searched the world over for a biblically sound history curriculum with a strong evangelical and Christ-exalting focus, and it seems as though I have found it in the first two volumes of your History Revealed curriculum.

I praise God for your faithfulness to Christ and your discernment in rightly dividing the events of history.

Thank you so much!

for His glory,

Jenny Vass

I have had the blessing of spending some time seriously talking with our oldest son (14 years) regarding his current studies and how he sees God leading him at present, and for the future.  We also engaged in evaluating his studies, and how he viewed our history curriculum.  His comments were that he really enjoyed the way ACB (you) presents history from the standpoint of God's plan for man and man's response to God.   He has enjoyed the material and the hands-on activities.

You are brilliant, your material is thoroughly God-centered and God-honoring, and there is limitless potential springing from the pages you publish.

May God continue to bless your efforts to honor and serve Him, as you work tirelessly to make history exciting, understandable, and God-focused for families.

Many, many thanks,

Carrie

“…(We had) a fantastic, rich time – and all because you gave me the confidence to "teach" this way and God opened up unexpected avenues.  The best bit for me was I got to learn really interesting things from my excited children! We talked about it at breakfast, lunch and tea time, travelling in the car, doing housework! We are all excited about next year as I explained to the girls that we'll be embarking on your Ancient Civilizations and the Bible curriculum and they'll be able to continue to learn in a way that is different from how we had been doing things with repetitive book work. … What a wonderful ministry you have. Thank you again.”

Thank you so much for using your God-given talents to help homeschoolers! We are enjoying our second year using Answers in Genesis HISTORY. It is so different from the traditional curriculums we were use to. It is a learning experience for our whole family. I also enjoy reading and re-reading Things We Wish We’d Known. It helps me to focus and be encouraged, in this my third year homeschooling our four boys. I can’t thank you enough.

We are missionaries in West Africa.

I wanted to give a bit of feedback on Diana’s curriculum that we started using right after the convention. . . First of all, we LOVE it!  It is working wonderfully with my 14 year old who does not like to read.  The first day, he was not wanting to start a new book.  We took turns reading aloud the article and portions in the Bible about creation, him just doing what he had to in order to get finished.  Half way through the article, he piped up with “I think” such and such about what it said, and then later, “well I don’t think that” such and such about another statement, and so on through the rest of the article.  It was amazing how engaged he suddenly became in the process.  Even his sister was amazed.  If I would have brought up how wonderful the book was and how he seemed to like it, he wouldn’t have even known what I was talking about but he DID like it and thought through the subject more than he ever had.  He even repeated some of what he learned to his Dad later.  He also really likes the audios.  On a side note, the first day of listening to the audio, he would randomly get up and start doing push-ups.  Later I listened to the How-To CD and knew why (brain break with physical activity!!).  We’ve since added those to our “schedule”.   We’re now in Phase 2 and he is working on a genealogy project.  He loved being able to choose what he wanted to do.  I also love how the things we are doing “count” for our state records as social studies, science and language arts.

We have been using History Alive for just over 3 years (I think). It took us two years to get through Ancient Civ because there is so much Good stuff in there. We are now working through RRR and planned to take two years for that as well. Even if you wanted to start with the middle ages, you could still buy the CD's for AC and listen to them. Your kids might be inspired to go back and start from the beginning. You could always skimp on the Egypt section, there is certainly a lot more in the curriculum than just Egypt.

The CD's are filled with interesting stories and information which educates not only the kids but adults. Starting from the beginning gives a solid framework for understanding the later material. We have listened to the audios over and over. I still get all choked up when Diana gets to the bit about when Jesus comes in the 'fullness of time'. That section of the talk is SO powerful, every time we play it you feel this beautiful sense of the tangible presence of God. I have actually had to stop it once when I was driving to teach art to our HS group. I was so emotional that I had to take some time to pull myself together and also concentrate on the road. This curriculum isn't just a history course, it is really unique.

I was so glad to see you in Idaho. . . My daughter, Christine was blessed to receive your greetings. She asked if I told you that she actually quoted you in her speech that she gives in the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association (NCFCA).  In one of her speeches about troubled teens she quotes you. She wanted you to know that. And as a proud mom, I can tell you that this speech in the persuasive category has been earning 1st place at national opens, 2nd place last Friday at the National Tournament in Virginia Beach, and 3rd place at the Stoa National Competition in San Diego last month. . .  It should encourage you, because you spoke into my daughter's life at a critical time in her life, and we will be eternally thankful to you.  I pray the Lord continues to bless His work in you.

Love and thanks,

Suzanne R.

Your workshops have been an inspiration to me, especially Average Genius. When I saw this workshop I could finally see what my learning style is. And I loved the illustration with the ducks. It made it easy to understand, and now I can see how to change the way I'm learning to fit my learning styles better.

Thank you very much,

-Seth M., age 15

Diana,

I recently attended the SHEM Conference in Springfield, MO. I went to several of your seminars and had a great time! I was able to get some great tips and lots of encouragement. Thank you so much for sharing so openly and with such a great sense of humor. It was just the boost I needed to be ready for another great year homeschooling!

Thanks,

Debbie Lane

I heard Diana speak on "living outside the box" in Peoria.  That talk changed the way I saw myself and my children – and we have all enjoyed life so much more because of it!  The way in which she told the story of the Good Samaritan reminded me that I need to be willing to get dirty – my children (and others) are worth it.  Sue P.
