What is the Structure of the History Revealed Curriculum?

The 9 monthly units are divided into 4 weekly phases so students can engage learning history in different ways.

Each week, students have various options, choosing activities and experiences they find interesting.

Each option caters to different kinds of Smart (“8 Great Smarts” or Multiple Intelligences). 

Phase 1: Introduction to the Era

  • Listen to amazing stories on audio
  • Read about the era
  • Play with the info (recap)
  • Discuss something interesting
  • Go to the library together

Phase 2: Exploration of the Era

  • Choose a topic that looks interesting to explore
  • Discover fascinating aspects of that topic
  • Decide how and what to present to others
  • Share presentation with family/friends/class
  • Play with Timeline and/or Vocabulary (optional)

Phase 3: Hands-On Projects & Culture

  • Work on a map (optional)
  • View art & architecture online
  • Choose to work on any (or all): art project, science experiment, music (listen & try), cooking
  • Share with family/friends

Phase 4: Personal Expression of Era

  • Choose how to creatively express some aspect of the unit through:  writing, art, music, drama, movement, or conceptual design
  • Present expression to family/friends/class

Why is History Revealed set up with so many options?

Adults learn in different ways.
So do your kids.

Adults have different interests. So do your kids.

Not every curriculum recognizes and honors these differences. History Revealed does.

Beginning with the creation of the world, this curriulum title continues—with a constant focus on Jewish history—all the way to the early Roman Empire; and the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

If your student would enjoy being part of an online class, this year we are offering Romans, Reformers, Revolutionaries, and, also World Empires, World Missions, World Wars. I "teach" through recorded lectures, while a kind, generous teacher handles the live classes.

Though they seem quite "out of fasion" in our modern culture, these are books with American folk songs and the stories behind them. Learn a bit of American history and experience the joy of America's folk songs. Great fun for singing along!
